15 May 2014 - Ishajaya Technology eyeing bigger share of SAP market

LOCAL IT firm Ishajaya Technology Sdn Bhd is eyeing to secure a larger slice of the SAP market by providing stronger support to local clients.

“We want to send the right message to the clients who are not using SAP right now, that this solution is now available locally,” Ishajaya Chief Executive Officer Elvin Hii said at yesterday’s Technology Innovation Summit.

Hii said there are many companies in Brunei who are using SAP, most of them in the telecommunications and oil and gas industries. The CEO said they’re expanding their client base by offering their solution to local manufacturing companies and other oil and gas companies.

“Our business focus now is moving more towards our enterprise clients, so this event (technology summit) is to let these clients touch base on these kind of technologies which is suitable to Brunei’s business environment,” he said.

He said the SAP will help companies streamline their operations and automate their systems.

“SAP is a very processed driven application, so everything is run real time and you need to have a proper processes identified before you can even use the application,” he said.

Hii said that once this is identified, it will help the organisation run in a “very systematic way”.

SAP also provides analytical tools which will allow companies analyse data that are stored and collected through the system.

Hii said that this solution will not be used by small companies in Brunei as SAP is more suitable for those with more complex operations.

Ishajaya, which was established in 2008, was appointed the SAP’s only value added reseller in Brunei.

The Technology Innovation Summit was organised by Ishajaya Technology and SAP. It was held at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall of the Empire Hotel and Country Club.

According to Ishajaya, the summit was conducted in response to the growing interest in SAP solutions among local public and private organisations in the country.

Industrial and corporate experts in systems and technologies shared their insights with over 160 government and non-government delegates from the education, healthcare, defense, security, telecommunications and oil and gas industry individuals of Brunei.

Adi Shamsul Awang Haji Sabli, deputy permanent secretary of IT and E-Government at the Prime Minister’s Office, was the summit’s guest of honour.
